Did you know that your body is ~60% water, and that exercising can deplete that percentage? With this summer heat, it’s important to stay hydrated so your body can operate efficiently.
To ensure you are hydrated during exercise, we recommend to:
- Drink Early – 2 hours before working out
- Drink Often – instead of gulping down water, it’s best to frequently take sips throughout your workout
- Drink After – post-exercise hydration gets your fluid levels back to normal and can help with recovery
- “Copious and Clear” Approach – this refers to urine volume and color. Darker color and less volume is an indication of dehydration.
